Imparfait is one of the several tenses used to past actions.  We use the imperfect to describe the emotional or physical states in the past. It doesn't matter at what time these actions began or ended. The imparfait is used to describe people, places, conditions or situations in the past. It would also be used to describe habitual or continuous actions in the past. These past habits are mostly translated into "used to" or "would". The passé composé is used to describe actions that started and ended at a specific time in the past. The imperefct describes past situations, and the passé composé narrates specific events.

For imperfect verbs, all the verbs are formed the same way, except for the verb être.

For the last way, you're going to need Google Chrome. Download it, if you don't have it yet. Get the "Accents Plus" app on your Google Chrome page. Choose French accents. Whenever you need to use an accent, the app will be there on the top right corner - like in the picture on the left, and then you place your cursor over the kind of accent you need and it will show you what keys you need to press to get the accent. Usually, to hold two keys. it's as simple as that.
